So not only do I wake up to a hung parliament (second massive gamble backfires) but I've taken the heritage in to Listers Droitwich for the paintwork bubbles to be done under warranty. I sent in photos and other details and its booked in for a few days. 'No record of it being approved sir'. I've taken time out of work to bring it in. I don't often use the word apoplectic but I have today. Chris was the service manager here and tried hard to look after you. He is now at Solihull. Big Cry

Listers have confirmed the mini leak is a geabox oil seal and now have one on order. I doubt it was that, my guess it was the grease that other Heritage / Adventure owners reported early doors.

They are still investigating the paint problem. I'm lost as to how customer service can be so pants. Would I get the same bother if I was dealing with an 18 month old RR? Rolling Eyes

I need a Grumpier old man thread. Listers have apparently had the warranty approval rejected by JLR because they got the estimate wrong. If it smells like BS and looks like BS its probably BS. Someone has dropped a plum and its easier to blame the parent co. It will be 2 weeks on Friday and I'm no nearer to knowing when the work will be done. A comedy of errors. Their customer service has fallen off a cliff. I should have gone to Shukers in Ludlow Big Cry

@Huttopia you might want to post a few comments on their Facebook pages, bringing some attention to your plight, then spend a Saturday outside their showroom handing out leaflets informing their customers of your troubles. Can guarantee you you'll get rapid results, I done this with Evans Halshaw. Jumped ship to reliability - Mitsubishi L200

This grumpy old man thread has become far too tame, I mean complaints about Land Rovers, their dealerships, warranty etc belong in the main forum surely?

Anyway, the ever enthusiastic Dan Snow Rolling Eyes is almost as irritating as Kwis Packham Twisted Evil

Why is there always less post delivered [as in letters] on a Saturday? Steve.

I once worked with a guy who always stated that the definition of a customer was someone who wants the world, but can only afford Belgium.

I believe that to be more of an attack on the kinds of Companies my previous employee used to deal with, and in no way a slur on Belgium.

Still waiting for someone to phone me about getting the intercooler grill resprayed under warranty. Either the body shop is sick to death of working on Defender bodywork problems and can't be bothered to phone me or the Main Dealers haven't contacted them.

I think I am unique in having paint flaking off of my intercooler grill Rolling with laughter

As to oddness, that is mutual of course. Rolling Eyes

Why do certain mot centers insist on trying it on, just because the vehicle is being presented by a little old lady? Failed on a cv boot which along with the rest of the vehicle been inspected and found good not a fortnight previous also failed on a torn wiper blade and the headlights being too low which is not surprising given the rotary switch in the cab was set to maximum dip, oh and a binding caliper. I have no immediate means of testing the brakes beyond a simple manual inspection as i don't have brake bias rollers so that is fair enough. I also can't PROVE any of the rubber components were tampered with but it seems a little odd that they have all died in less than two weeks. What however really annoyed me was getting attitude off the garage when i came down to see what was wrong with it and when I wanted to take it away to repair it myself. Then later the same day once fixed being told in no uncertain terms that it can't be retested at half 3 in the afternoon and that i can wait until the next morning for another 1 hour slot really got my steam up. Cow chutney. Do me the retest and I will not bother you again. Robbing gits. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Where was this Lambert? PM me and I'll avoid the place. Ta.

I took the wife's Fiat 500 Convertible to have an exhaust fitted. Mentioning no names but it's in HARROGATE, and it's an AUTO fixing CENTRE. A simple two piece exhaust. First they fitted a cheap, pattern one, badly. They then tried to fit it properly. Then they swapped it for another system but fitted that badly too. Fourth visit had them try to fit this one properly. I then gave up on them and took it elsewhere.
