Adding to Mash...are the pivots/linkages clean and not gunked up?
Also return springs weak? Disconnect throttle cable from engine and see if issue occurs then you know if it an issue at the carb or throttle pedaland cable. |

Have checked the return spring and is very strong on the return , the cable is very loose and lubed ?

if you have SU carbs it might be the poppet valves on the butterfly are sticking. Options include, replacing the butterflies like for like, soldering the valves shut, or throwing the butterflies in a bin and fitting plain butterflies. That way you need never worry about the problem again and you get rid of a restriction in the airflow
