Funnily enough but my air filter was showing clear signs of filling with dust after two days pottering behind another vehicle on the plains last weekend. Not my every day drive I admit but our overland plans have me toying with either the Entreq RAI or a Safari with added Nugget bits
Either http://www.entreq.de/fahrzeugtechnik/ansau...rchel.html Or standard Safari snorkel with http://www.nuggetstuff.com/product/defender-puma-sealed-airbox/ and http://www.nuggetstuff.com/product/nugget-...e-adaptor/ Has anyone fitted an Entreq Airflow II kit? Not sure if that waterproofs the set up? 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |

I've fitted the Southdown which is fully sealed and comes in at £159.

The Entreq RAI is a real snorkel, so fully waterproof. The Entreq Airflow Kit II also is fully waterproof, unlike the standard Defender air intake part PHD500950. So a combination of the Entreq snorkel plus the Airflow Kit II should get you a fully waterproof system. Not sure if Olaf would send over the Airflow Kit II for self-install. The price for this part on his website includes the installation cost by him at his workshop, and there is no shipping option. No doubt this is to be sure that the installation is fully waterproof. For me this is no problem, I won't install the snorkel, but will let Olaf install this summer the Airflow Kit II. That is the last of three Entreq parts I still need to fully optimize the airflow intake and air supply to the engine. The other two, Entreq intercooler and stainless intercooler pipes are already installed on my truck. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

You will probably find this will fit and is a proper snorkel. Installed one on my TD5 and I believe should fit the Puma but you would need to check the entry in to your air box.
https://www.safari4x4.com.au/products/land...ries#parts It is a snorkel not a RAI and would save having to buy two items from different manufacturers to get the same result. Been discussed before http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic31039.html 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top |

Thanks,
The second Naka option shows coming out of thr wing top. Is that the same on RHD? Does it come with the blanking plate for the original intake? Also can it be waterproofed well? 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |

Yes, same on RHD (mine is RHD). All the Nak bits are fully sealed, so the only things left to seal are the airbox drain holes. It's a very impressive kit.
It's also available in 2 versions, one for roll-cage-fitted vehicles, and one for those without. You'll have to provide your own blanking plate, I used an ex-military plate bought from ebay (used on the waterproof conversion kits). Click image to enlarge |

I like the look of that Blackwolf. Was looking for a wing top one for my Land Rover but thought Mantec were the only company that made them. How much was it if you don't mind me asking? 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon

You may want to sit down before scrolling down...
£360 all up inc. delivery. But absolutely worth every penny, especially when you consider that you don't just get the external bits but also the equivalent of a "Nugget duct" as well. Price up a Safari Snorkel or similar (which is less well engineered) plus an ND and you'll be in the same range I'll wager. It is quite simply the best snorkel on the market today. |

Oof. Then again the Mantec one cost about £300 so it's not that much more. Will look into that when I get my next Defender then. 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon

Yes we supply.
If it is Nakatanenga we can supply. Currently out of stock of them. IIRC there should be some on the pallets due in next week. Brendan |

'Looks' wise the southdown looks much better with out the pipe bent along the bonnet?
Assuming these are both sealed units, do the same thing?, the price is a huge difference. |
