Been a while since I last updated about the series1, so thought I would show you what we have been up to.
We had a harvest student on the farm for the summer, who is a local lad and has done quite a lot with us over the last couple of years. He has got a very good feel for all things technical, and bought himself a drone which he used to film us doing some farming things, and he did a really good job. I got him to film me and my dear lady out in our land rovers, and I think he did a good job.
See what you think, Nick.

I'm really impressed by that. Makes me want to buy a drone. Land Rovers look great. Nice to see the old and new together. Do you know what type of drone he used?

Thought I had better give an update on what has been going on with my old series.
Always been a bit noisy in the axles so decided to investigate, to cut a long story short I have stripped and re_built both the front and rear axles.
Front has had all new bearings, seals and swivels, there was a lot of wear throughout the axle and a tidy up was well overdue.

The brakes have all been overhauled, and everything has been repainted and tidied up.
The back axle was a lot more straightforward, but was certainly due a rebuild, just the brake pipes to tidy-up and we are all finished

Finished the winters projects off with an oil change and adjusted the timing and she's good to go.

Really enjoy my old truck, learning lots of new skills and don't regret buying her one bit.

It's not our farm, but we are very lucky to work and live at such a great place, gets a bit busy sometimes and makes fitting in hobbies a bit difficult, but my job is also a hobby.
Busy calving at present (along with a few other jobs).

It certainly a lot easier when it's been converted to fully-floating hubs. The original semi-floating hubs make wheel bearings a bit of a challenge!

Took the old girl for a day out to the Flywheel Event at the Bicester Heritage Centre. Had a fantastic day out with a lot to see, from race cars to WW1 fighter planes and most things in between.
The car park was interesting!
