Spain 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Fuji White
Differential Oil Specifications
With lots of help from this great forum I found the oil specifications for engine, gearbox and transfer case. But on the differential oil I cannot get a clear view. Owners Manual says: Texaco Geartex EP 85W/90. Workshop Manual says: Molytex EP90. My questions are: is the differential oil synthetic or mineral and should it be GL4 or GL5? TIA

80W/90 or 75W/90 synth or mineral, and always GL-5 Puma 110" SW

MK thank you very much for your reply. I always learned that synthetic and mineral should not be mixed, any idea which oil was put in at the factory? It will be the first time for me changing the diff oil so genuine should be in there.

Both oils are mineral based and in any case sure you can mix synth with mineral (most are Group III or IV and PAO blends). Besides there is very little oil left after you drain the diff. Puma 110" SW
