Keep it genuine.

Your shocks are probably wearing so replace them like for like.

So many people seem to think that when the genuine parts are worn they have to put carlos fandango components in their place !

Interesting reading, thank you. Would it be normal to change shocks and springs together on the assumption they've had the same wear or will springs long out last shocks? James

it is important to change all the shocks at the same time or all the springs at the same time but not necessary to change them both together. Springs will outlast shocks a long time life.
