What cable for HID's
If I wanted to make my own HID kit HV output loom to suit the length I require what cable should I use?
I'm well aware in-rush voltage is around 22kV AC so I feel it's important.

There are looms on the net but who knows what quality and they are mostly just 1m.

They all use single pole Superseals connectors.

I have a feeling it's Silicone cable used, but could be wrong.

HT spark plug cable has too large a diameter.

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

I'd encase the cables in PVC tube also anyway which will have dielectric strength of 20kV also.
That will add extra protection against, abrasion, UV. etc etc. WeWillWinπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

14 or 16 gauge would do it. Puma 110" SW

Of which type? Thinwall, Silicone, regular auto.

Dia isn't so much the issue but the dielectric strength of the sheath to safely contain the voltage. WeWillWinπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

I used regular auto for 55W ballasts. Protected with plastic tubing. Puma 110" SW

Okay, thank-you MK.

Not quite so much to worry about as I thought then, I'll be using Superseals for connectors and
PVC tube and heatshrink to seal ends.

Thumbs Up WeWillWinπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
