Nice to see another Heritage.

As I live in Essex I'm a little bit jealous that you found it here.

But only because I sold mine some years ago to another Essex man, and nostalgia is a wonderful thing!

The side steps were a poor design and I spent a lot of time re-painting them and squirting preservative inside. Whenever I took off the original plastic bungs from each end, water poured out!

The only mod I did was to fit a shiny ally knob on the Hi-Lo lever, to match that on the main gear lever. Otherwise I left it stock. (Worth noting that rare Editions lose value if they are modified).

The "silver" paint on the hinges, bumper, grille etc was often referred to as "faux galvanise" at the time.

Might as well put up a few pics.

The black & silver logo on the spare tyre cover is my eccentricity, for which I apologise!

It is only my opinion but I think these are better looking than the recent Heritage versions but as I said, just my opinion!

I hope yours turns out nice and that you get great pleasure from it. Thumbs Up

The bronze green appears different shades depending on the light reflection.

Are the silver bits a true silver or just grey. Mine are quite weathered and it's difficult to say? Anybody know the bronze green paint code. There is nothing stamped on the vin plate.

I would agree to get a local paint supplier to match an un-weathered part of the interior bodywork.

Paintman once supplied me with Mid Grey that didn't match my One Ten at all.

If I remember correctly the Heritage was one of Land Rover's first forays into water-based paint, and I don't think it was entirely successful.

At least one of my panels was a slightly different shade of green to the others (and it hadn't been replaced).

I was hoping my pics might help on the colour of the faux galvanise, but I imagine it will have its own paint code and not be either silver or grey.

Spent a good few hours trying to put some life back into the paint work and finally managing to get a shine. Rotary polisher with G3, clay bar and wax

A 50/50 of the roof. This was the worst and felt like sandpaper evidentiary of a life spent outside.

Spare never been on and love the style of these wheels.

It's all original paint but is bubbling in various places. Rear door is beyond salvage as are the windscreen blocks.
It's a bit tight into the garage Ray Shocked They're both in there.
