Painted a windscreen block and the 2 heritage badges

Windscreen blocks should be Galvanised colour too. The colour closest I got for the Galvanised is a Audi colour I can give you the paint code Thumbs Up

Are you sure?

Mine weren't (see photo on earlier page).

Nor were they on this one for sale by James French many years ago:

Nor in an original photo of a Heritage 110 in LRO in 1999.

Nor in a photo of a Heritage 90 in LRW in 2005.

In fact yours is the only Heritage I've seen with faux galvanise windscreen blocks.

(Always willing to be re-educated though).

A quick Google for images revealed a few that do have galv coloured hinge blocks:

There were equally a few without though. Inconsistency at Land Rover or just 17 years of tinkering?

The last pic above has also had the indicators and side lights swapped over. Darren

That's not to say that some were not painted by dealers before delivery, or by subsequent owners. But factory intention seems to be body colour.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Strange I've had mine more than 7 years, they were silver when I got it and the paint looked original. I have the original sales leaflet at home and lots of articles on Heritage Defenders I'll look at the others I just assumed they were all the same

The vehicle in my James French photo and the vehicle in LandRoverAnorak's first photo, both seem to have faux galvanise air-intake grilles on the LHS wingtop, instead of the usual black.

Not seen that before either.

Factory eccentricity or owner mod, I wonder?

I'm beginning to think that there might have been more factory variation than we suspected, as owner mods are usually nowhere near as subtle as this!

2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 ST Santorini Black
Some new oem side steps arrived this week and I'm now butchering them to make them Heritage style Big Cry
Removing the plastic covers and drilling out the spot welds so the chequer plate from the original ones fit. Next stop - powder coaters to change them to silver.

A bit more progress this evening. Old skool radio cassette that was original fitment back in the day. Looks like it's new old stock, never been fitted.

Thriller! Things are finally being re-attached. All the silver (more like light grey) bits are back from powder coaters so a busy day replacing door hinges, bonnet hinges, grill, bumper and side steps to offer side. New rear door is being painted.

Me neither - it is coming along nicely and it is easy to see home much care and attention is going into getting it 'right'.
