Agree the big pain with 285's is the amount of crap they throw up, in winter it takes only a few miles before you can't see out the side windows, I was contemplating fitting wider arches if i'd kept my 285's. The 255 85 16's give a circ of 83.9cm so are a smidgen taller than 285 75 16. the 285's always look good though Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

I love 255's but you really need a lift to use them and from what some have said Puma's don't like being lifted. |

My thinking was, the're the same diameter as the 285's and they didn't rub so the 255' should be OK I'll have to get her on full articulation and find out Original Member Pie n Pea Club. 110 HCPU Tipper |

What is the issue with a 2" lift. Lots has been said about puma not liking but what is the real issue. My td5 had no issues at all so I'm struggling to understand this one. My pref would be 255's but not spending the cash if they cause issues. Looks like Mr sensible will stick to 265's just now. That's interesting - sounds like they are being really picky to get out of paying for anything. So much for customer satisfaction I guess that as 285s are not on the current option list and never were for the Puma they can do that. John http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk 2011 Tdci 110 CSW XS |

From my understanding of the Tdci is that the engine, and gearbox are not mounted level. So that when you lift the body higher to the axles, it increases the angles that the props have to work (one much more than the other (front I think)), which it dislikes.
This is what Gwyn Lewis told a mate, who then changed from his +2" ( or more) to +1" via Gwyn and got back his road maners. Andy |
