Fitted a lock for the spare wheel.
Bought from this eBay seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Boost-Wheel-Lock...486720188? No confidence in the "rust inhibiting" qualities of a thin flash of zinc so I had the parts powder coated. I also cut out and added some rubber washers to prevent damage to the finished surfaces of wheel and lock. It's a nice snug fit and won't flap about when the vehicle is in motion. It also doesn't show any ahem.....unsightly bulge under the cover. All in all, I'm well pleased. Hahahahahahahahahhaha ...... Yeeeeeeeees, not too concerned about aesthetics tbh. I like my truck well maintained but not so polished and shiny. Living where I do isn't conducive to keeping a clean car - our lane is built on an old riverbed so carries all of the run-off from the fields surrounding us so whenever it rains it's filthy, and as I clean cars once or twice a year they stay dirty! Interested as to which lane it is you're referring to though - I'll see if I can find it this weekend  |

I fitted a Mud Cubby box locker, the sliding version.
It was quite easy to fit apart from I decided to add a 12v socket into one of the holes that is already cut out. I did a proper job with the wiring that involved crawling under the car and coming up into the cubby box area and the wiring was enclosed in plastic trunking (scrounged from my local main dealer). I'm really pleased with the result, a lot more storage for all of the crap I carry and as I have seat rails it's also lifted the height of the cubby box to make a more comfortable arm rest. |

Went over to Salisbury Plain, drove in mud, dust and generally had a laugh.
Ruptured a brake line, got a lift home on the back of an AA lorry...  |

Spent the weekend assisting a local running club with their annual 5 tors race on Bodmin moor. It's a good opportunity to stretch the springs and truly drive off road.

Went to Angle, quick pint in the Old Point House (which has changed hands and all of the character has been carefully removed). Then to Cresselly for a quick couple in the Quay (which has also changed hands and all the character has been retained). Mrs H drove back 😁

Myself, Mrs Thon and baby Thon went up on the the perimeter road around Salisbury Plain in the 110 today. Her indoors took the controls as we have 1700 Km to drive in a couple of weeks and she wanted to be able to take over if necessary. I also wanted to see if the 2 roof boxes i'd fitted remained in place on the "rough".
Click image to enlarge With some trepidation she set off, and as is usually the case, almost immediately proved that she can drive it better and smoother than I can .... She even reverse parked, parallel parked and hill-started it. One of her comments was that she didn't understand why I drove this instead of our nice shiny Freelander 2. We're off to Imber village tomorrow so she can clock up some on-and-off-road miles. |
