Front washerjet replacement on a Puma
Hi all,

I just noticed today that my front washer jet was missing Shocked

It should definitely be a warranty job but TBH I don't really feel like going to the dealer and spend a day just for that if I can avoid it...

Although the spare is just a few quids, I wonder how hard of a job it is to replace it on a Puma? I've seen a few threads on other forums but these were for the TD5 and alike, I am not sure how to proceed on a Puma, does it require taking the dashboard off??

I think the reference for the spare is AMR3025 (for example here at Paddock), am I correct? Does that part fit on a Puma?

Also, do I really have to replace the whole part or could I just put the end cap that''s missing here?

Any hint welcome!

Cheers!

I like this thread, even if my idea is to install a second jet so to have a more efficient cleaning even if i drive on a motorway Smile

I had the dual jet on my Td5 but i didn't do the job myself. I have tried on the puma to open the dashboard and seems a bit of a nightmare. I know that AndrewS has done an amazing job so he might be the best one to tell us how difficult it is to get aggess to the rear of the dashboard and replace/add a washer jet. Bow down

Opening the puma dash isnt that problematic.

But to change the front jet you should find enough give when you pull the old on off...to push the new on...just dont let it go! Mike

Thanks Mike Thumbs Up

Is it safe to pull? On that picture, there's a nut... And assuming this is the correct part, how to tighten it back in place?

Cheers!

The end piece you are missing just pushes on, 2 second job. If you dont use enough antifreeze in your windscreen wash the ice can force this piece off. Pimped black '07 Puma

You may find a problem, you used to be able to spearate the new one & push the missing bit on your exisiting stub, but the new ones come superglued on, & usually mean unbolting from the rear.
Order one up & see if you can separate it, you can see the traces of glue if they are glued on. Crying or Very sad

Are all the new parts superglued on? Or can the br brought separately?

I've found the genuine Landrover, Britpart and Allmakes ones are all glued on. No separate parts

I've just replaced mine today.

Not wanting to rip the dash out over Christmas, I thought I would have ago at "doctoring" a cheap washer jet.

I brought a cheap one off EBay, cut the plastic pipe where it goes into the jet body,
Then using a 9.5mm drill bit, you can then drill out the inner pipe which is bonded into the main body.

A small amount of Araldite applied around the old stub that protrudes out of the bulkhead, saw my washer jet working again.

A simple fix that takes around 10 mins. Thumbs Up

Picture shows the jet cut and drilled ready to be fitted.

The part you have lost CAN be bought seperately saving you from splitting a complete part. They stay on longer than a stretched one, i should know i'm on my fourth one.... 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
