>>Actually, Churchill wanted a more integrated Europe after the war.

Europe being the bit on the other side of the English Channel.

Yep. It was De Gaulle who opposed Britains participation right at the beginning of the EEC. He knew Britain was potentially too powerful and would upset the aspired to Franco/German power base. Anyway, I'm out. I want to sit in my Defender.

Maybe it would be a good time to close this discussion while everyone is still on speaking terms? I doubt anyone is likely to change their mind about Brexit of Scottish Independence.

Glad this thread hasn't boiled over. Thumbs Up
If I recall correctly, Chrunchill wished for peace across Europe. (For obvious reasons post WW2)
But that did not include being part of it, or being integrated with it.

It worked for a time, I believe up until around the 2003 mark or so.
After that it just got too big, to powerful and too controlling.

There are certain aspect such as protecting our countries identity.

I think a Scot ref should be considered after Brexit, but not before or inbetween.
And even then no guarantee.

We cannot have referendum after referendum for the sake of it.
Both the EU Ref and Scottish ref were both disclosed as a once in a generation vote.
There is no rights or wrong with timing of either, if anything it was the best way as it is.

This is purely a ploy in my book by Krankie to purely seize publicity and stir irrational fear and trouble.
I can't believe how she says "Scotland voted to remain in the EU, so we should have the chance to".

That implies that Scotland voted 100% Remain, disregarding millions and thousands of people as if Scotland was not their own homeland.

It's also imo making a mockery of Scottish people who aren't interested in it at all.
NI & Wales seem to be quite happy, could you imagine Wales calling for indipendance?
I think the SNP would laugh at that..

I for one won't be judging and tarring Scottish people with the same brush due to the SNP's ideological stupidity. No Guts, No Glory.
