well it used to be this.
None Winch had an additional bar about winch height making an A shape...if you see what i mean. The winch version is more an upside down U without any bars Mike |

Hi, IIRC correctly the 'non winch' version has a bar across the bottom of the legs (runs parrallell with the bumper) and the winch version doesn't have that (just an upside down U shpae).
I had the winch version fitted to my old Puma on a standard bumper with no winch and it looked fine. Edit - snap with post above John http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk 2011 Tdci 110 CSW XS |

Thanks all - pics very handy too of course So seeing as the winch version seems to use less material I wonder why they charge an extra £50 for that one?!? Ok, well, I think I'll go for the winch version just in case I want to add one - could save money in the long run. Thanks again Simon

design has changed a little.
On cost difference I would suggest at: a) pricing never makes sense b) maybe there is more required rigidity on the winch version heres mine when new: Click image to enlarge Mike |

I have the non winch type bar with spots and was wondering if there is any way of shoehorning a winch under it?

I'd be interested in this too, as I'm sourcing an a-bar to fit my 110 ...
Is that a-bar only compatible with a standard bumper ? Could I fit that on to my Terrafirma winch bumper ? TJ101's pic shows the bottom 2 bars of the grill being sut to make room for his winch - now some winches may be further forward or back but if you take that as the height the non winch bar cross piece if *just* at that height so I would think no chance unless you could cut the ross piece out of the A-Bar.
Would it work with lrmaniac's bumper? Doubt it given the profile of the bumper's front edge. Click image to enlarge IMHO lrmaniac it looks pretty cool as it is |

I've ordered the winch version now, so thanks for all comments. I saw my new truck while I was at the dealers this morning - number plates on it now, all bits fitted (except the A-bar!) and i'm a very happy bunny Simon

You may be able to fit a winch tray / bra to it. Have a look on the goodwinch.com website, they do one.
ETA - have a look at the winch bumper section on the website. he calls it a "bikini" |
