This is my International B414 and it has a front loader that came with it, i think it is late 60's/early 70's not sure of the actual year. It has been in the family for about 35 years now, we used it on my mother's small holding, getting in the hay and all sorts of stuff. It is a runner and was used all the time and now i have got it, ( as my mother passed away last year ) i hope one day to restore her

I bought a Petrol/TVO (tractor vapourising oil) c1946 Fordson E27N in need of restoration for £100 back in 1983 (I couldn't afford a steam roller, so it was the next best thing).
I did it up as best I could, drove it through my mum and dad's garden wall on its first trip afterwards (no point pressing the brake to stop with all that torque) and off we went to a show, where it promptly seized up. There are about 210 tubes in an E27N's radiator, and I seem to recall six of those on mine weren't blocked.... My dad hated me having it, and I eventually sold it to the treasurer of the club he drank at. The treasurer was later done for stealing cash from the club's fruit machine, most of which had been put into the machine by my dad, so I always teased him that he'd actually bought it off me. I think it cost me £300 to buy and restore, and I got £600 for it (in 1986), so I was happy with that. I expect it would be worth just a bit more today. Digressing, if anyone wants something far rarer to restore, I know where there's a railway goods van body that I believe is a Pre-Grouping Midland Railway one. There's no underframe, and attempts to get some interest in it from one of the preserved railways have sadly failed as they've got too much to do already. As it's almost certainly unique, this seems such a shame. |

This was the kind of thing I cut my teeth on as an apprentice. I think they stopped production around 1966/7 pretty much when I started. International were never particularly popular as spares availability was diabolical as they didn't have a very good dealer network. Most of my work was with David Brown, Fords and Masseys. The DB range were far easier to work on and would be my choice is I ever went down the restoration route I started with nothing and still have most of it left! |

I have tractors. But then I really should have being a farmer.
Personally I think it all went wrong when the scale of farming increased beyond the scope of a 50 horse tractor one of those vicious circle things that ends up with 4 and 5 hundred horse tractors and associated massive implements that are totally inappropriate for our countryside infrastructure. Or maybe I'm just ranting. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon. |

I had two vintage tractors but unfortunately my toy box was getting rather full so under pressure from SWMBO I had to sell them.

My 1953 Ferguson TED20. It is road legal and I have the original buff log book. I'm in the process of doing it up and have completed the back half just leaving the engine and front axle to do.
