Just found this from 1979.
A Fisher 37 in the same company as my Folksong - I think the journalist was new to the job You would have to add at least another nought to the price of the Folksong and ten feet to bring it up to the level of a Fisher. I 'have' three! Well I don't actually own them but I do work on them every day (except weekends). Each has four V20 Diesel Ruston Engines that kick out 10,000BHP each (when all four are working! Interesting job and no two days are the same!
Dry dock has been the recent place of abode!!! Click image to enlarge When they go wrong...they don't do it by halves...Con rod as it should look like... Click image to enlarge OOOpppss!!!! Cor "Rustons" a name from the past Mal, I got into stationary engines last year and came across quite a few Rustons. I ended buying a Lister CS 5/1 to rebuild with a Broom & Wade compressor and an old saw bench attached to dice me fire wood up!
Eh watch out, it says scrap on that new con rod  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Last edited by Zagato on 19th Feb 2011 10:33pm. Edited 1 time in total |

A couple of 37s around here - pretty boats IMO. They used to have a Botnia Targa 35 with a couple of 300ish bhp engines. They were based in Guernsey at the time and we used to nip to France for lunch - very civilized! It was a bit of a thirsty beast though. COME ON THE SPRING - I want to play on boats again! My 'Farmer Giles' have shrunk since leaving the RAF! With my job with all the ex-Navy and Merchant Navy types about it's 'backs to the wall' whenever possible and post a guard if you bend down! Wouldn't mind a few of the pistons they'd make great stools in my gazebo! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Thanks Zagato, yes it does go rather quickly and can outrun stink boats in a chop as they bounce all over the place whilst I calmly slice through the waves - in fact it is anything but calm, just bloody good fun hanging off the side of an aquatic bucking bronco whilst being mostly blinded by the water pouring everywhere - god I love it !!!
