So the Bowler option doesn't work well with a double din set up?

Not the one i made! Ha, plus i wanted a longer lever so had to be shaped a little further back, i build bikes as a hobby and dont mind having ago at one off stuff and seen as the bowler stuff aint cheap and cost me about 15-20 quid in materials!
