Karl, I put it in this afternoon and took it off 2 hours later Whistle There is probably a little too much power in version 3 for my un-modded Defender. Looking forward to getting the intercooler/silicone hoses and the decat pipe now so I can use v3 all the time Mr. Green May even treat myself to uprated props while I'm at it Whistle

Well today I came out of a roundabout in Strathaven, making a boy racer in his Peugeot 207 wait. He sat on my tail as I left the town and when I got onto the long straight unbeknown to me he pulled out to overtake at the same time I floored the landy to see what it could do. I looked in the mirror to see him sitting out in the wrong lane all by himself and when he finally caught me up he stayed back at a reasonable distance. When I got to Stonehouse I went right to the Feed supplier and he went straight on, as I looked in the rear view mirror I started laughing as he was making big w####r motions with his hand lol. Mr. Green Made my day, especially as I had v3 installed Mr. Green

so what is v3 then how much power and torque ?

and also it wont be lng before your needing new turbo to manifold gaskets and studs when they start breaking from the heat produced?

With all the discussions and 'sunshine blowing' (makes me cringe sometimes Wink )and historical 'teddy throwing' about remaps there 'appears' to be (may be mistaken) a bit of candidness when it comes to facts and figures! Surely if those that produce such quality enhancements it would advantageous to dyno the results for all to see and compare!
I'll show you mine....In fact I have already in a previous thread...

Now....(throwing down his gauntlet) Laughing

Where's yours??? Whistle

Be interested to see it too as the previous post asks! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Every engine is different, there for they respond differently to tuning so i dont think they will want to say this tune will give you X amount of BHP and X amount of torque as some may not develop that amount and some may develop more. Also i dont think stating max figures is much use to anybody, let alone with Defenders. I would much rather have a 150BHP tune which develops good torque low down and pulls well all through the rev range giving smooth power development with no flat spots than a 200BHP tune which gives all the power in one hit high up the rev range and has nothing lower down and will often have very high EGT readings. So personally i think on something like a Defender, which is by no means a fast or powerful car, that driveability is much much more important than figures or graphs on a piece of paper.

Just my view anyway Cool

Pete.

Pete,

Fully understand your sentiments but having a benchmark torque and BHP graph and/or figures people can have evidential facts rather than hearsay, conjecture and rumour! One person's opinion of a fantastic product can be another person's opinion of '5hite!! The age old adage of 'A picture (or in this case figures and or a graph) can and does paint a thousand words!" I always like to see before I buy and in mitigation Pete from BAS did offer me 'a try before I buy' when I had compatability issues with my own map with Land Rover software sometime ago! Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I know what your getting at and as always on here you have a very valid point, i just think they need to find a better what to express these things, maximum figures are pretty much useless, even when compared to standard, for one most wont be achieving what the manufactures claim in the first place. Graphs can be good if you know what too look for and have some bench mark to compare them with. One thing that does annoy me is why people are so obsessed with horse power, when the thing that really matters is torque. To me torque and BHP/ton if you really want a BHP figure is far more useful.

With all that said i do have to agree that there does need to be some kind of guide for people who dont have the same experience that we all have on this forum. Its very hard to choose who to go to when everybody claims that they can do this and that, when its not always this and that that's important. I know who ive chosen to do any remap work on my Defender!

Pete.
