The new Optimill boss is great and I wouldn't want to change it now, in terms of the security when I leave the vehicle is priceless IMHO !
However one of the downsides is that the self-cancelling indicators don't self-cancelling anymore - is there a work around to make them work again? 2010 Defender 90 HT The longer I live..... The better I was! |

Phil from OEM Landrover sent me my two new front sport seat conversion kits in half leather fully heated, loom and switches!! I'm sure everybody on here already knows these kits from Phil are really good quality original LR. You are able to convert your existing seats to look like original factory sports seats and if like me your original seats aren't heated you can have these kits with heat pads in the back and base, complete with wiring loom and switches - Thanks Phil
![]() As always Phil was on hand to give advice over the phone when needed he genuinely is a nice chap always got time for a chat, help and advice and a bit of banter! It's quite a simple and easy conversion to do the first seat took about 2hrs 30min to complete the second seat about 90min (including tea breaks... ![]() I can't wait to fit them in but before I do I need to strip out the front cab floor covering, install new sound proofing, new carpets and stainless steel door trims..... ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge 2010 Defender 90 HT The longer I live..... Lots more mods in the pipeline this year now I've decided to sell my Cayenne and make my Defender my daily drive....
![]() I inquired at my local car audio shop about supply & fitting a rear view camera I was quoted £250 which for a camera and a few wires I thought was quite expensive although I'm sure competitive. So I decided to set about saucing my own camera and fitting it myself, this is how I got on: First port of call was eBay where I found this camera kit (camera only) for £13.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Waterproof-Mini-...2749.l2649 ![]() Click image to enlarge I liked this camera because it is directional in terms of being able to move the camera from side to side, up and down when setting it up which seemed perfect to get it exactly where I wanted it. I drilled out a hole in the number plate light spacer with the drill bit supplied for the camera body to fit in and then run the wires to my head unit. Once connected (no instructions included in the kit!) It quickly became apparent that the camera wasn't as movable as I first thought and in fact it was useless unless I just wanted to see the ground and not what was behind me! So I set about looking for a different camera with 170 degree view, HD quality. I then came across this camera kit (camera and wires - no screen) for £8 with the same wiring set up as the one that I had just installed - perfect!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-170%C2%BAHD-...2749.l2649 ![]() Click image to enlarge I simply unplugged the camera and fitted the new one in minutes it even fitted in the same hole... ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge I'm really please with it and for just over £20 (would've been £8 if I'd ordered this one first) well worth every penny.... ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() The longer I live..... ![]() And for my next mod......... Defender Rear Door 'Soft Stop' Gas Strut (post 2002) from Mud.co.uk It's a bit late I know but do we get a forum discount with these guys I've spend a fortune with them over the last month or so..... ![]() http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/defender-rear-door-gas-strut.html Any advice on fitting this guys? I've read a mixed bag of reports on this mod while some love it some have had problems with the bottom off the rear door trim popping off when closing.... ![]() ![]() The longer I live.....
