So here's my new P&J 2010 Puma 2.4 in Stornoway Gray Metallic I took delivery of it a couple of weeks ago. It's my first Defender, my maiden voyage in her was an emotional experience to say the least being very different from my daily drive Range Rover Sport
Click image to enlarge She already has a few mods carried out by her former keeper that I can't take credit for. The bulkhead has been lowered, the rear cab has been soundproofed, carpeted & has Mud side panels, Momo Jet steering wheel, KBX front grill' black chequer plating, middle seat removed with part leather cubby box, Pioneer stereo with bluetooth music and phone interface which is really handy I can press a button on the screen and tell it who I want to call which is fantastic! It also has 6 speakers with a sub behind the seat attached to the bulkhead facing the front the sound it amazing. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I've got some nice mods planned I'll detail them with photos as I do them for you all to follow. At this point I'm going to point out that although I'm quite handy around the house, turning my hand to most things indoors vehicle maintenance has never been my thing and I've always taken my cars to a local garage But I really want to give this a go so I intend to carry out to the best of my ability these mods to prove its not really that hard (now wheres my AA membership card ) i hope you'll all be following to lend some friendly advise Today after work I managed to just have enough daylight lefe to remove my old green LR badge and replace with new black badges to the front and back. I also fitted my new Defender 3D lettering to the rear. I removed the Land Rover 3D lettering from the bonnet but ran out of daylight to fit the new 3D gloss black Defender lettering. Click image to enlarge Full set of DRX LED lights from Mud and Halo headlights from Bolt On Bits will arrive tomorrow along with my new Dirt D-Fender Wheel Arch Extensions So looks like its going to be a busy weekend if the weather allows? Like it.
I'd definitely get to work on keeping that slight corrosion on the Xmember at bay though. |

Just been out and checked That's mud next to the Xmember not corrosion! Light rubdown to remove that slight surface rust and a repaint will sort that out!
What paint do you guys recommend using? 2010 Defender 90 HT The longer I live..... The better I was! |

Halos just arrived today from FlatDog!! What a great service they arrived really quickly, FlatDog kept me updated each day by text on where they were and an ETA
Unlike the LED light set I ordered from Bolt On Bits the day before I ordered the Halos I'm still waiting for them, heard nothing - hope they are still in business Looking forward to fitting them all over the weekend hopefully they will arrive in time and it wont rain? I'll keep an eye out for the carrier pigeon!! 2010 Defender 90 HT The longer I live..... The better I was! |

I've got panel gaps like that on mine too, I too use ACF 50 them as well.
No issues at all, the capping just above is mild steel and up under that would be useful as well. And the rivets on the capping too. It's perfectly safe on paint, but if you plan on waxing it can be a little difficult to remove but that's a good thing. It can also attract a little dirt and dust to stick. It's best to remove excess where possible really. |
