We'll have a lot fewer people telling us what to do.

Less people maybe - just more uncensored rubbish.
The best you can hope for is that they will be so busy they wont have time to focus on such rubbish Mike |

School head teachers are advised to avoid using terms "girls" and "boys" over fears of offending pupils questioning gender.
Schools should not use the words "girls" or "boys" " because the0se words might offend pupils who are questioning their gender identity. Instead, teachers are recommended to use gender-neutral words such as pupils or students. It even recommended creating unisex lavatories at schools to be sensitive to all genders. What utter rubbish I have taught for thirty years and I am certain my use of the words boy or girl has not upset anyone. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

No, not fake news. I've just heard the same from my step-daughter who is a nurse. And also currently a mother-to-be! ![]() She thinks the new instruction is ridiculous too. ![]() |

Hmm, just had a thought:
Has this come direct from the BMA. Or do Doc P and my step-daughter read the same newspaper? |

Unfortunately it's true: The advice was published in a BMA internal leaflet entitled “A guide to effective communication: inclusive language in the workplace”.
It suggests “the elderly” should be referred to as “older people”, “disabled lifts” as “accessible lifts” and someone who is "biologically male or female" known as "assigned male or female". In the guide’s pregnancy section, it states: “Gender inequality is reflected in traditional ideas about the roles of women and men. Though they have shifted over time, the assumptions and stereotypes that underpin those ideas are often deeply rooted. “A large majority of people that have been pregnant or have given birth identify as women. We can include intersex men and transmen who may get pregnant by saying ‘pregnant people’ instead of ‘expectant mothers’”. Really!!! |

Don't read that paper. Haven't seen the code of practice on the use of terminology from the BMA either. I heard it on the news this morning and, knowing the BMA, had little reason to doubt it as the truth! I see little point in continuing my subscription to them. As our union they're bloody useless too. I can feel a direct debit cancellation coming on. |

I suggest that your BMA consult with the new USA president about all this. He'll make some good suggestions to them. ![]() http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |
