Heater hot and cold

Hi all

Any one come across the heater blowing hot then cold and then hot again?

Temperature guage is steady at half way . Not sure if I have fault or just need a muff for the grill. My thoughts is the viscous fan is over cooling the rad, until the engine opens the thermostat

Any thoughts

Hi " is it the 300tdi., I took my fan off years ago, never needs it, even in the summer,[ towing 2.5tons too ], sounds like you've lost coolant, check the level, and monitor level, to see if using - losing, coolant
