The switch blanks just clip into place and can be popped out if you use a small screwdriver carefully. You may find that there is a connector and wiring tucked into the back of the switch blank, depending on which one you remove and the age of your vehicle, since quite often the harnesses include the connectors for extras which are not fitted. (My dash, for example, has the wiring for front foglights, HRW, and a few other things which have never been fitted to the vehicle.)

Use some stiff wire with a small hook on the end or two, should work as a puller. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Thanks, I will have a go with a screwdriver this evening and try to pop it out, I was not sure if the switch was on the inside and the switch cover was on the outside and they clipped together

Just took a píc for you, press fit really, and come out easily.
It's just the fact there is nothing to get any purchase on to get it out.
