I was thinking of 2 x 2 Hella FF40; driving and fog beams.
The TF705 in LED of Terrafirma looks also nice. What is better; 2 driving in middle and 2 fog at side or 4 the same and 2 at side more turned to the left/right? |

When I ran four lights on the roof of a Discovery many years ago, I found that two fogs on the outside and two spots in the middle gave the best compromise of light spread.
I think I had Hella Comet spots, which were very good, but the fogs were generic ones. Given that they were being used more as flood lights than as intended, they were good enough. They can be quite vulnerable, particularly if pushing through trees, so I'd steer clear of very expensive lights for that application. I guess the best option for maximum light coverage would be a pair of pencil beam spots in the middle set up to give a small central overlap at range & a pair of normal spots on the outside angled to overlap with the outer edge of the beam pattern from the pencils. Your standard headlamps would add to the coverage closer to the vehicle.
Not sure which lamp units to go with as I haven't bought any for a while & due to minor accident damage have just removed my bull bar & Hella Rallye 3000s. The roof rack & Hella Rallye 1000s got removed a few years ago after my local garage tried to drive the 90 into their workshop without realising there were clearance issues...   |

Thank you for you answers. I still haven't make a decision. New idea is to mount a spot LED bar in the middle and at the outside round LED floodlights.
I've measured the lamp bar; 12cm high and 34cm between the mounting points. |

My 110, bringing up the rear, with Rigid Industries spots and spreads. So good, I've kept them for my next motor.

Nice ride and even good looking lights.
I've searched them on www.verstralershop.nl Now I doubt between these Rigid ones and the lights of Piaa. In the meanwhile the new buttons arrived. I've a pre 2000 dashboard in my TD5. The bottons below the steering wheel will remove to the center. On the roof there is already a plug mounted and wirings via relays. This is what I did to my 1992 D90.
Click image to enlarge These are Hella FF 200 lamps. Two on the outside are fogs and the two on the inside are pencil beams. This was a superb setup giving awesome distance and width. It took quite a while to find a set of lamps that would sit under the Hanibal rack and above the windscreen. Really miss this setup... |

Headlights of a Defender are 17cm, aren't they?
Then are lights between 8-12cm IMHO nice to see. Halogen lamps with eventually LED bulbs are also an idea. |

They are 7" in diameter, which is around 17.8cm.
