To be honest the factory alarm does most things an aftermarket one will and is already installed, it just needs activating 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I had a Clifford avant guard 5.5 (tilt sensor ,blackjack and perimeter sensors) and couldn't recommend enough. Had it fitted after the horse had bolted ( a grands worth of led spots and light bar) it's paid for itself as another attempt through back door soon tripped the alarm and scared the crap out of the toe rag when I looked back at security cameras.

All defenders have the alarm module as standard, it is required to give the ecu a code to start. It can be activated by computer (nanocom or similar) to enable the engine to be immobilised doors to be protected etc.
With a few parts such as bonnet switch, battery backup sounder and interior sensor it will protect all opening panels and detect interior movement with very little wiring indeed. In fact depending on the age of your defender everything but the interior motion sensor will be plug and play. Just need to have it activated on computer and have some fobs synced up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Grafty99 -
I would be more than happy to go down that route if there were people/companies that I could trust to do the necessary work, but I wouldn’t know where to start looking and I sure don’t have the knowledge to do it! If anybody knows anywhere in South Yorkshire, please let me know, otherwise I will continue looking for ‘off the shelf’ replacement alarms recommendations and fitters. |
