Those 4 bolts are more than enough, you'd be amazed how much they could take, I really wouldn't bother strengthening anywhere else, besides, if Devon 4x4 supply the bumper like that then that's the way it's supposed to be, they really know their stuff Optimists say the glass is half full..
Pessimists say the glass is half empty.. Engineers say the glass is twice the size it needs to be! |

I've seen people install M12 bolts. This means you'd have to tap the captive nuts to that size.. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

8.8 M10 Bolts holding the bumper on.
A brief google suggests that they will take 3T plus in shear. I'm not a mechanical engineer, but I'd assume you have 4 bolts, so 8 bearing faces (top and bottom) allowing for 24T of Strength in the bolts. I suspect it would start pulling out of the bumper and chassis legs first! |

^^ they wont be under equal stress so 24t can only be thought of as an ideal. How much stress a single bolt goes under during a worst case scenario is the number you need to compare with the 3t number you looked up. That's a harder number to come by Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...
