Pete, i've said your tune was good if you read back i'm not denying that ....all as i am saying is that with your maps there is flat spots ? as lots of guys with your map are experiencing.... if these guys were honest they would put it up on here.... as these guys have contacted me and asked what my experiences were.... Pete there is quite a few of them ? and for some reason they don't post it on the forum... the first map you sent me i thought i had installed it wrong as it felt the same as the standard LR tune....you knew at the time there were faults with your map and you still sold them to customers....This is a Forum where guys share there experiences
Also if you want to start sharing Emails i have a few of your customers that other Forum members might be interested in ?

Read this Pete as said i've said your map was good but with flat spots

The puma was and still is an ongoing project for ALL tuners to get even more perfection on ALL cars and software varients allong with matching it to the ongoing LR updates and variety of modifyed cars, just as now with the one thats just come out on SSD last week with EGR related adjustments in it.

Tuners are all aware of some problems on the puma and in perspective its actually way way less than 1/8% of the cars that are not perfect in every way.
As said previousley some cars have problems standard even after new ecus by landrover of which a post is already on the forum about, this is a fact, tuning does in some cases enhances problems which causes me problems but i have to deal with it the best i can and move on while trying to keep the customer happy at all times.

If we could all get on with what we know easer, we would get to the bottom of any niggles while at the same time matching them to landrovers new and ever happening updates then every one would be happy. Back in 2007 when tuning started for the puma when i took of the first procssor before OBD was available LR was not sending updates out monthly lol so it was less time consuming than it is now to work on many software varients at the same time.

Im sincerely sorry you were not happy as i try my best in all cases to please everyone im sorry ive let you down.

Pete

Yes mate getting the same faults for over two months now. Last time it went they said when they looked at it they said nothing was wrong and that there were no faults when they checked but I knew there was as I checked before. As Pete has said I think there are some they can't see.

I have the list at work but not with me. These are on most of the time and were there this morning 404,100, 299,1643, U0155, U0300. I also get these sometimes 606, 68A,1103

I dropped it off at another dealers this morning so here's hoping.

The codes were/are there, only they are untested DTC's and wont show up on IDS as they only check tested DTC's. Pete posted on this about the nanocom as I was getting them and IDS didn't see them, it seems that both the nanocom and the Alien tech boxes (REMAP interface) read and show both tested and untested DTC's, which was leading me to think the codes I was getting were ghost codes ( a fault with the nanocom code), appearing then disappearing between checking with the nanocom, it turns out they were untested DTC's. The remap box I got recently shows the same fault codes as the nanocom but as they are untested DTC's I would not hold my breath on the dealer looking at them, even though IDS shows both on separate pages as does the BBS MSV-2.

The problem here is I know there is something wrong with the vehicle, a 5mpg (at least) drop in mpg would to confirm that to even the most inexperience of technicians but they don’t really care do they?
How do you know if it is a tested or untested fault?
Whats the point of having a machine to tell you the fault codes if it can’t be used to relay to the dealers what is wrong (if anything)?
I guess I just don’t grasp the theory behind these boxes, sorry.

In the case of a failing but not totally failed component a fault code may not show at all Neutral

This may be one of those things that sometimes is a real pain in the arse and only live data readings from a fully fledged dealer level diagnostic tool can show something is not right by viewing the readings and outputs from each sensor. EG the maf.

The boxes fault codes are not the best help i agree, but if you subtract the non tested or always seen faults from any others this would leave the new faults in question if any were present. but as said about component failure this does not always show a fault especially the maf unless it was short circuit this was the same on the TD5 also.

I know this might sound a stupid question but how do you tell the tested from the untested?

Sorry guys but this is all very new to me.
