Well, here i am in the world beyond warranty - just over 100K km (3 years and 1 month) and i noticed a "wet" spot under the gearbox.
I had the slave cylinder replaced 5 months ago - if i'm correct, this involves removing the gearbox? If so, what sort of warranty should i expect for individual jobs? Cheers www.ralton.co.za |

Not sure on tdci but td5 gearbox had auto transmission fluid which is red. Clutch fluid is clear and burns your hands. I've had a few slave cylinders go over the years and there easy to change. I would expect ur slave is still covered.

Gear box out If its out of warranty then nothing is covered... if you need a new slave your looking about £700 for the dealer to do the job..... independent quoted me £270 NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY |

I would push for it to be covered since it was changed only 5 months ago. If it is a gearbox out job £270 great deal. Did it on my 200tdi a few weeks back in half hour the joys of simple engines, still need to bleed it through mind.

Rob they have put the slave inside the bell housing so its a pain in the arse to do the job..... i was quoted £780 of JE Chester and £270 of my independent LR said they would go half's with me...but it was still cheaper for me to pay full price with my independent than go half's with LR ? NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

It's the Transfer case that's leaking. So, two questions:
Would this have been tampered with during a Slave cylinder replacement? How do i check the oil level? www.ralton.co.za |
