Been researching the lack of Mach 5 availability for a while. I know there are alloy replica's available but I am interested to hear if anybody has any experience with any of the following steel "mach 5's" ?
Are any of them still available? (I will ring the companies after the Christmas period) Quality good? Offsets decent/match originals? http://www.silverlinewheels-tyres.com/4x4/wheels/steel/1/4 http://www.forgetec.co.uk/4x4.html Thanks |

That's because Matt Lee the original designer and producer stopped production of these wheels several years ago. He sold the design and manufacturing rights then bought them back and started production with the later flared centre design, the first and second generation had round centres, subsequently he ceased production.
No chance whatsoever I'm afraid!!!! Unless of course he has once again commenced production yet again. You could always give him a ring direct. Link below. https://www.yell.com/biz/m-j-lee-engineeri...r-1086357/ The original Mach 5s were in my opinion the best looking of the lot and with the best offset. I had 305 x 70 x 16 tyres fitted that did not protrude neither did the bumpstops need adjusting to fit. I had two sets 15 x 10s and subsequently 16 x 8s. Original Steel Mach 5s are 100% no longer available. There are cheap copies but they have an awful offset (for example the Bearmach Challenger wheel). If you want a set of Original Steel Mach 5s the only way to get a set is second hand. They are like Hen's Teeth and command good prices. Production stopped of the steels approximately 5-6 years ago.....
Avoid the beadlocker Mach 5s, they are not road legal and are a complete pig to balance. One forum member gave up on a set due to not being able to balance them. My mistake, Brendan must sell the Zu's? As I'm sure he was displaying a set at the Peterbog show one year! On well

Used sets of the Matt Lee Mach 5's do come up on eBay from time to time, well worth the wait.
Got mine last year for a good price, sold the rubber that came with them, shipped the rims over here and had them sand blasted, and re-powder coated. it's a Landrover thing... my renovation thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40792.html |

I have a couple of sets of original Mack5s, used for extrem offroad use,, only wheel i have never had a problem with,
won't be selling anytime soon Had one of the last set of beadlocks rims from Matt before he stopped doing them, that must be 5 years ago, if not more As said, they do come up, expect to pay £100 per rim California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |

In my never ending quest for Mach 5's I have found these 'gojos 5 pipes' copies.
Does anybody have any experience with them? Offset looks to be worse than challengers, or have I misunderstood? Cheers https://www.tyresdirectuk.co.uk/product/16x8-et-32-gojos-5-pipe/ |
