Hi Folks,
So my local indie garage had a proper crawl over the truck (I trust them, local to my house, and they have done a lot of work on my cars now). The verdict, nothing bent or out of place, they dropped the trailing arms and nothing sprang, the axle stayed still, they disconnected the roll bar as well, they ran a straight edge on the chassis and nothing twisted our bent. All bushes are in good condition and shouldn't worry about them (yet). They checked the tracking and no offset between the axles (I haven't got the read out). What they said was the body is off by about 30mm total, so in effect the body would need to be moved by circa 15mm to square it up. They reckon that there it was built like that from new as all the mounting points have no witness marks i.e. nothing had shifted. So for me its a Quirk of the breed, a bit of visual DNA i.e. nothing is perfect, but it just works!
It might bug me later, but they assure me they could square it up, but its not worth the hassle or time and effort to do so, and I'm inclined to agree. I don't care, I just needed to be happy that nothing was bent or out of place. The also fixed for me a couple of issues that I knew about which I had negotiated the sale on. So, I'm really happy, and I think I have a great truck. I will post pictures of it at the weekend after I have had a chance to wash it and take some pictures. I'm now going to spend some pennies on it
