There have been a few cases of the handbrake drum making contact in use, could explain the additional heat and noise. Mike

Our also get hot in the front passenger side but after several hours at 120 km/h and not strange noises. Better to check! Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Thanks for the replies.
My hand brake was sticking a bit previously and has been adjusted so that does not seem to be an issue. Am quite familiar with those symptoms of a stick brake. Still not 100% happy with the hand brake as I feel its just out of round and slacking off the adjustments is not really a cure. Like I posted earlier the gear train noise is not that bad by any means just differeent to our old TD5. then again it may be because the new car is quieter in general that I can now hear these other noises ![]() I had insulated the floor on the old girl prior to going outback so maybe its just that I need to do the same again on the new one. Is there a gearbox oil temp sensor on the new box? I really need to get a copy of the shop manual as the owners manual tells ya nothing. Cheers Mark |

You can get the workshop manual at www.landrovertechinfo.com paying a fee for day/month/year access. Its a good idea to do it (at least you can download what you need for future reference) Cheers! Does a subscription allow you to down load the manual or only view it? Cheap one way very expensive the other.

You can print it
I use Adobe Acrobat to "print" the manual in a PDF file for reference and to do not have tons of paper Its tedious because each section are independent and you cannot print all at once. but with some patiente can be done in few hours of work.
