It's surprising what you can do yourself to good results isn't it.
I did th whole of my cubby, and built it. On a different note, haven't done anything with my 90 today bar use it but thinking of things I will be doing with it. Delighted to see my trailer wiring manufacturer has now started selling LED lighting parts that are plug and play. Glad I didn't jump the gun before the LED types were released or I'd have already modified some wiring probably, Not cheap though again.... but plug and play is worth it. ![]() β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

On Friday I took the 90 for its MoT on Friday and it went straight through, happy days. Also booked the Heritage for its first service and contacted the supplying dealer to say 'it doesn't appear to have been Supagarded, but I have the invoice for it'.....

Rosco - how did you cure the squeak? I've got that feature in the pick up.

@ Huttopia, can of 3in1 oil and a torch. Spent probably 15 minutes last night, with my head in the footwell spraying a little on every spring, hinge and moving part I could find, whilst fighting with the door.
Was still squeaking when I went indoors, leaving the can in the cupholder with a plan of further investigation today in the day light, but it wasnt squeaking on the way into work this morning. ![]() 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Opened the spanner boxes this morning to sort out my front diff. it had stopped me dead in the middle of one of the busiest roads in Hereford City Centre in the afternoon rush hour(or three) a month ago. Limped it up on the pavement, jacked up the front, both front wheels span independantly but the prop flange was solid. Off with the prop, difflock in and wait for the rainy day fund to build up to be able to buy a full secondhand axle. That way the thinking is that I can strip my knackered diff out and replace the parts needed with good parts out of the bought in axle. Yes mine has ABS but the only difference is the CV joint, mine has a pick up ring for the sensor which is through a different top swivel pin. If the CV has gone then it's just as well to buy new ones anyway.
All would have been fine if the damned courier company had played ball and hadn't taken a week to get round to delivering it! So, it got here yesterday late afternoon and today I jacked mine up, got the blocks out and started after getting the boys to school and college. Five hours, plenty of time, pull the hubs out, halfshafts still intact, all good. Moved across to the donor axle, did the same then pulled the diff out. Got underneath and went to pull the knackered diff out and, ![]() I've got no choice now but to drop the axle off and try different angles and see if gravity may help, if that doesn't work then at least I have the other axle tube to get a working axle back on the motor. So hopefully tomorrow afternoon we'll be out and about again, good job really as the MoT is booked in for Thursday morning. I know the axle wouldn't be part of the test but I just want it done instead of driving round in diff lock all the time. |
