That is a DISGUSTING photo, which you can only have accessed on the dark web, and certainly not suitable for a family forum. How DARE you.... Shocked. Get it off before I report you to OFCOM or Mumsnet or something... Monsieur Le Grenadier

Seeing this image, only a few days ago, I thought Jeez, there's a bit of work to be done there, also road testing, tuning, getting all the little bits sorted, so I wouldn't be a bit surprised if there was a delay upon pick up. This is a MASSIVE conversion.

Thumbs Up Great! I think videos will be best as its the noise I want to hear most! Also really want to see the exhausts, seems to be the difficult thing to get right. Can't wait! James

Sorry but from that photo you can see there's a complete lack of attention to detail.

I was going to place an order myself but the missus will be chuffed that I won't be now.

Check out the label on the brake fluid reservoir - not straight. Very disappointing.

I've a question when Andy gets out long enough to type on a computer...

Do they increase the fuel tank size?

My current range is realistically around 450 mile to empty. That's working on around 28 to 31 mpg I imagine the v8 does around half that? so 15mpg? Range 200 to 225 miles?

I agree it will be awesome but having had cars that have small range / tanks it becomes annoying filling up especially on road trips...

Even worse in europe when petrol stations can be 70 kilometers apart and you only just notice the red light as you pass one...

I still await the start up video and blip down the road... Thumbs Up (to fill up)

OK, what a day!

Up in the hotel from 3.30am, after breakfast Oliie went to do a message. I planned to be leaving the workshop at 11.30 for the 7.30pm ferry...

Got to the workshop at 11.30 and the defender looked like it still had a weeks worth of work to do!, exhaust, gearbox oil and calibration, shafts, wiring!!!! Big Cry

Anyway, i suggested we go and grab a coffee and i would change to the late and final ferry at 11.30 from Cairnryan. At 2.30 Graham called to tell us it was all ready! and it hadnt been driven a single yard yet!

This is what i admire about this install from Wildcat, they have total confidence so i jumped in and off we went, Ollie and Graham following for the first 20 miles or so. Then i was going SOLO!!!! 20 miles later i hit the M6 traffic, sitting in this for over 2 hrs!!, but it never missed a single beat, just rumbling along, gearbox still self learning and improving after each mile. 7 hrs later i have covered the 370 miles and arrived at the ferry.

Absolute animal, have been keeping the revs sub 3k, and just really letting everything settle but it honestly feels like it could have rolled out of the JLR line. The exhaust is crazy!

Couple of minor things to address, the paddle shift is designed around a Momo wheel but i want to use a different wheel so i am just machining an adaptor plate for this. Then i just need to fit the exhaust tips which they have posted over to me.

Today i was trapped in house as we are having the driveway cobbled so it was a good excuse to spend the day giving it a deep and deserved clean. Next plan is to get it up on the blocks and with the help from mr cummins Redbeard, we will set to work and get the buzzweld completed and fit the BBK, suspension and a few other bits.

I tried to meet with Phil from OEM developments to get all my interior pieces but sadly ran out of time.

Some pictures at last! Videos to follow when i have the 1k miles on it and can open it up!

And there I was hoping it was some 'long game' joke, leading us on for the grand 'ta-dah' on April 1st 2017. But no, the b****rd's gone and done it. But am I jealous? Nope, not one iota. With the world craving all things 'retro' I'm led to believe that the 'must-do' conversion is in fact from the petrol V8 to the 2.4 diesel. You see, people crave the history and originality and with the 2.4 you get the noise, the lethargy, the mechanical fragility, the lack of horses etc, that harks back to the original, but still allows for modern driving convenience. I'm sad to say that MCMA is sooo yesterday and I'm glad I have kept my 2.4. Honest. Truly I am. Whistle

"Doctors, no, please don't take me away, I promise to be good. Really, I was only joking. Pleeeease. I cannot stand that MCMA has a V8 and I don't, you must understand? No, no, don't throw away the key, forgive me. Noooooooo Big Cry "
