Possible leak
Hi all,

Identified a small dried coolant stain down the side of the radiator today. Have always had to top up coolant since owning the wagon not much just every now and then.Got a 300 mile trip tomorrow so will top up before I leave and carry some water but wondered if worth stopping off and putting some radweld type stuff in like wynns rad stop leak or just keep monitoring levels until the service on the 15th? Will order a new cap for the expansion tank anyway but have a feeling I have already replaced this a while back.

thank you!

Keep topping up, I don't think modern engines like rad weld etc. chokes the galleries and causes hot spots in heads etc....

I've had a tiny leak on the heater valve for five years, takes a cupful every 6 months!

Yes, as I was advised correctly here too - don't use any radiator fix stuff, if it's very minor leave it alone.
You can change the cap if you like, it may help and little money to use.

Keep topping up for now, if it gets bad you'll soon know then it'll be time for an actual fix.
As suggested, you'll probably go on for years no problem.

Keep an eye on it for topping up purposes, other than that I wouldn't worry. NEVER SURRENDER! ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧
