as a rule of thumb, the EGT should NEVER exceed 750C for longer than a few minutes, else you run the risk of warping the exhaust manifold.
I have the alarm on my EGT monitor set to 650C, and I rarely touch that limit. I run the BAS remap, and I drive my Puma like I stole it -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

I also have my alarm set at 650degC, and rarely reach it.
1,000degC ... ... your EGT gauge is likely not properly calibrated. If that were a true reading, you'd quickly have some quite evident problems!! |
