In my experience, the BFGoodrich all terrain is a great tyre.
Good linear grip in all conditions, would give you plenty of warning when reaching their grip limits without suddenly letting go. Very acceptable noise levels. Mine lasted around 50,000 miles before I felt they needed changing. Around 3mm of tread left. Also very good in snow. Definitely a tyre for all year round use 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Have run two defenders on older pattern BFGs, first one the tyres lasted for 80000 miles still with tread on and my SVX did 85000 miles and still loads of tread left, so BFGs for me everytime. 2015 HT XS 90

Also a vote for the BFG.
120.000 km include quite hard non paved roads conditions in the Patagonia and still going. Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

Conti is an OEM fit. Great tyre, very quiet with good all round road holding, pretty good off road as well. The only issue I have found is they find and hold gravel stones like a magnet... until they come off with a 'twang'!
BFG wins the looks department hands down. Great reviews as well. But a bit noisier on road than the Conti. Good luck making your choice!! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

BFG, but only as I have the MT version and they're nice too. (My vote perhaps not worth as much as others...) Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

Not BFG, because when I've been driving with other vehicles that have them I haven't been impressed with their performance compared to my Michelins, and yes I know one is the parent of the other.

Same here ... never been impressed with BFG AT tyres, run them before and got rid, and see plenty fitted that don't perform anywhere near as good as other makes.
BFG are a 'status' tyre for some unknown reason that the majority rave about ... Of the two it would be the Conti's every time for me ... but I'd sooner have Cooper AT's .. The AT3 is a cracking tyre Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

Conti on mine, If its good enough as it left the factory I'm happy.
I park and drive on quite a large gravel drive, no issues... They seem to grip well, not too noisy compared to all the other noises you hear in the cab Also always people swapping them, so I managed to get 2 take offs for my sankey for £70 I guess a lot of people (including me) like the look of the 265 nobbly tire, but my driving is 99% on road... so I'm happy. I might just add spacers for a better 'stance' |

I'm with Dave-H, cooper AT3 is a great tyre if you do mainly road work and mild off road. Run them on our Disco2 with no issues. They haven't been found wanting in snow and ice as yet ...
If you shop around you can get them for about £ 80 too. N. |
