What an odd poll?

Continental does list this tire as allround summer, so no clearance for winter use from the vendor. It is a nice summer tire though and I am ok with it on mine (satisfied, if it weren't not an energie sucker with 1/2-1 Liter added fuel consumption in summer).

If seriously trying to avoid discussion with authorities, or worse insurance after hitting somebody ..., there is no choice, its BFG.

BUT, I was driving winter time in Frankfurt area a few times and no, I strongly advice for a real winter tire. The geographical and weather conditions disallow allyear tires in my opinion. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

Just to add to the mix... I was told by Silverline that the ST Maxx tyre is being discontinued early 2017. On the basis these tyres should probably last me 5-6 years, it slightly concerns me if I get a puncture and need a replacement I might not get hold of one.

For the record Silverline rate all Cooper tyres better than BFG in every respect. But may be commercially biased? James

Mick - Is it the Nokian Rotiiva AT you have?

I am considering the Cooper AT3 but have just noticed the Nokian AT have a winter rating which the Cooper don't.

How do you find them? Have you tried them in snow or ice much?

I don't do much off road but lots af muddy & icy farm tracks and the occasional field crossing in all a good all round tyre

Update 18 months after purchase.
Well I bought the Cooper Discoverer S / T MAXX 18 months ago and I wnated to give an update.

I have really enjoyed them and this is my daily driver. Low noise, great wear, traction and I have been very happy. Plus it is a very good looking tire with a great profile.
