Weather and alarms
Hi everyone,

We had a couple of extremely heavy downpours last night of rain/hail, needless to say the landy didn't like it and the intensity of the downpours set tripped the ultrasonic sensor inside the cab, setting the alarm off. So I'm probably not the most popular neighbour today as I happened twice. Has anyone else experienced this ever and what (if anything) can be done? I'm guessing the sound of the rain/hail on the roof has been that loud that it tripped it?

Cheers,
Lewis

Happened to me too this morning. It was chucking it down. Don't remember it ever happening before. I've had a trapped moth set it off though.

Are you sure its the ultrasonic sensor?

More likely than not, its the bonnet sensor. The metal bracket that holds it in place can bend or the switch can become damaged/worn out. All it takes is the vibration of heavy rain hitting the bonnet and it sets it off Thumbs Up

Do you get rain water in the passenger footwell?

Regards

Mark.

Sub-zero temps this week, and with the car not driven for 2 days she started first time of asking but the alarm sounded transiently.
Following this, I get a notification from Skytag that the battery had been disconnected.
I take it this was because of battery power being briefly completely drained from all other systems to supply the starter motor to turn over a (very cold) engine?
Is it an early sign of an ageing battery (only 3 years old though) or something or nothing?
