TDCi dash removal tips..
I'd like to find a leak, check corrosion on the internals of my bulkhead, chase a stereo connection issue and replace an air-con cable.

Anyone got a 'how to' remove the dash?

I'd like to get pretty deep in there and can likely figure it out, but any tips on stuff that requires a bit of force, easiest order etc. would be greatly appreciated. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

Not difficult, just time-consuming.

1) Disconnect battery (not essential but highly advisable)
2) Remove radio
3) Remove centre dash panel
4) Remove steering wheel, column shroud, and stalk switches
5) Remove IPAC
6) Remove dash

It takes under an hour and you'll then have something that looks like this (note this image is a LHD vehicle but RHD is similar):

Putting back is essentially the reverse of the removal procedure.

If you're ever thinking of fitting heated mirrors, that would be a good stage to do it.

I fitted aircon to a puma a few years back and fitted heated mirrors too. The best way to route the wires Thumbs Up

Is it drivable once you hook up the instruments and wheel again?

I don't have a full day to play with it, and could chip away at tasks on my lunch etc. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

Well, I suppose it could be drivable without a dash, but you'll have the IPAC flapping about and all the switchgear flopping about (assuming you put the switches back in). It would be wierd but possible, I think, but I'm not sure it's a good idea.
