Under-door seals
Hi there,

Following on from a couple of soundproofing threads recently, I wonder if anyone can point in the right direction of a part. In my 90 I'm able to see the road through the bottom of both drivers and passenger doors, and I'm sure there is a fair amount of road noise coming through here (especially in the wet). So my question, is there some sort of seal that goes along the bottom of the door to seal this up, is there an oem part or is it aftermarket only?

they were fitted from late 2010 onwards, before 2010, they were the same as the TD5's

Mine is 2012, but doesn't appear to have them, but it is a county "farmer spex" maybe missing on these? Shocked I guess it would aid drainage from in to out Laughing

I have a poverty spec 2011 that has them.
Been through bonnet deep water (I wouldn't have gone through if I'd realised) and been the only person with a dry interior. I did have to laugh at the usually smug Toyota owners Very Happy

I have a 2011 D110 SW and the seals are still the old type. Rubber strips with foam rubber cubes at the ends. I'm actually planning to "upgrade" to the newer seals once the coin presents itself as they are a bit expensive if shipped here to where I'm currently assigned.

Hi all,

so if am reading correctly there should be no huge issue beyond a fiddle to get these retro fitted to a 97 Def, is the a rear door version as well? (S/W)

i am removing the doors for a complete overhaul and thought this would be best to do at the same time

I believe it is not so straight forward on an older model as the shape of the door changed at some point and it is this later profile that readily accepts the newer door seal.

Those with the fabricated frame doors probably can't have them added as the bottom of the door is a sharp corner rather than the radius these are designed to fit.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
