Cubby Box Firdge
Hi all,
Wanting to put a mini fridge in the 90 to keep a few cans cold on the road. does anyone know of any fridges that fit into the cubby box, but have enough capacity to keep more than 1 can. 12v preferably, so i can unplug it when its not in use
TIA
George

I've no idea if it fits, but the Discovery's have a middle cubby box fridge that is approximately the right size - it may be a bit tall and narrow, however. Worth measuring.....

Does it have to be in the cubby?. Why not just put a permenant live 12v socket in the back and have a portable cool box/fridge. That's what I have and it works so well and you are not limited to a certain size.

I'd prefer to have it in the cubby box and out the way

The metal around my cubby box gets warm to the touch on a long journey - will the fridge cope?

The Discovery cubby fridge is a very different shape to a Defender cubby, plus it uses the standard cubby box lid, which is part of the centre console. I can't see it being worth the faff of trying to make it work, particularly given their price.

you either need a peltier plate, or an evaporative cooling system. But simpler would be to find a small portable fridge unit that basically fits, then upholster it.

Yeah, that'd be an interesting project and probably give more useable space than the Discovery one, which is really quite small inside. Darren
