I'd definitely replace shocks in axle sets. What to replace them with is a matter of budget and preference. If you're looking to change the handling to suit a particular purpose then that purpose will broadly define the choice of shock. If that's not the case though, you could do a lot worse than fitting OE ones. They're not expensive and are good general purpose units.
If you are keen to 'upgrade' then I'm a big fan of Koni Heavy Tracks, but you're likely to get as many different suggestions as answers to that one. Replacing the springs is really up to you. Does it look or feel like the vehicle has sagged or is leaning in an odd direction? If it just feels a bit tired then again, new OE can feel like an upgrade for very little money. i have some LR original rear shocks from a 14plate i am thinking of selling if interested. I replaced them with Koni
