It is indeed disgraceful that a widely known and potentially dangerous fault was permitted [as far as we know] to continue right to the end of Defender production. The ever present feeling of "is it going to fail today" was one reason why I chopped in my last Puma. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.
[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc]

Hi Blackwolf. A friend of mine bought his dream vehicle in 2007 the year you got your Puma Defender. His was after 20 plus years in a shorty Nissan which fell apart with rust and he was just so happy...with the Defender that is.
Drove it everywhere with complete confidence until 7 years later ....no drive at all. Nearly 1000 kays from Perth and a flat bed back home.
To say that he's not happy and very disillusioned at the response from LR to this happening to a fully serviced well loved vehicle is an understatement.
A complete disgrace as is the general build quality of these things.
