Hi all this morning I noticed in the reflection of the car in front of me that my main head lights were partly lit with just the side light being turned on. When turning on main light they illuminate properly. This is both lights not just the one side. Any ideas a dodgy earth or the switch failing. It's a 04 td5 160k. Ta. Marty

Nothing wrong with it.
Have a search for Dim-Dip. It was a stupid UK requirement for a few year. It can be disabled by unplugging the resistor on the driver's side inner wing. 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

Watch till the end for access to the relay or jump forward to the last 2 mins

Thanks guys. I did not think I had dim dip. After nearly 8mth of owning it and putting led side lights on I never noticed it. Does it only work with ignition on?.

Yes only with ignition on, just side lights.
I have led head lights and the reduced power was just as normal dipped so did the relay modification (took me 45mins inc a cuppa tea). With ignition switched on but car not running, led's would flicker when on sidelights, not any more since changing the relay! Adventure isn't paved! |
