Multimeter and check there's power going to it and check the resistance in comparison to the other seat to see if the element may be open circuit.

The multi plug under the seat is a weak point. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Pull the seat base off, they lift up at the front, you'll need to give it a swift tug. Then have a look at the cable that comes out of the bottom of the seat, I think it goes to a block connector somewhere along the line (but that's from memory so could be wrong (although it must be connected somewhere!)), make sure the cable hasn't been snagged from a previous seat removal. The cable doesn't seem quite long enough to put the seat anywhere out the way so it might have been dislodged from one end or another.
I'm not sure if the passenger and drivers seat is swoppable but I'd try that, see if the problem stays put or changes to the other seat. |

My doctor would day that you were a very fortunate person. He seems to have a lot of patients with a painful medical problem that he feels is accelerated by drivers heating up their nether regions. |

When I bought my one the salesman said owning a Defender is a way of life. I think that's what he meant, you'll be spending all your time fixing it.
Glad it's sorted. |

Yes I have plenty of things I would like to do but keeping it sensible.
Job 1 done which was the seat heater. Some security in its way. Next a service, then a polish, tidy a little carpet, remove the tow bar, replace some rusty bolts and that should be her 100%. Going to get Her 100% perfect as standard and then next year move to the modifications - will keep it all sensible and nothing outrageous just LR accessories - well that's the plan. |

Now winters upon us, there's a few things that need looking at that I swore I'd do before i needed them first one is my heated seats, they used to get really hot, now the passenger seat is just warm, and the drivers side doesn't work at all?
Questions What controls the heating limit? Has it a thermostat connected somewhere? And although I have supply to the drivers side coming in from the seat box it disappears up into the backrest (that doesn't work) but I could only test the seat connection which is dead? Does it daisy chain somehow, and how difficult is it to get to the backrest connection Ta 2005 TD5 90 CSW XS |

Got this issue on my 110. Doesn't seem to be any obvious snags on the wiring and the light is coming on for the seat which I believe means there is not a fuse blown. Does anybody have a circuit diagram for puma heated seats?

My ones work, but don’t come on that much and don’t get that warm?
Is this right, they are a bit disappointing? Kevin |
