The A836 is magnificent throughout it's length. Lots of single track, so takes a while. Round Durness is Balnakeil Bay and the Balnakeil Chocolate Factory http://www.cocoamountain.co.uk/balnakeil/ Smoo Cave is worth a walk. How do you find the trailer, thinking of saving up for one? Cheers Paul Monty-2015 2.2 110 XS Puma Station Wagon Yoda Disco 3-Sold Larry Disco 1-Sold Muddly XS 90 TDCI-Sold Pearl Disco 2-Sold Larry Disco 1-didn't want too but sold |

Hi Panda.
It works really well, being a ground up build there was plenty of time to get it right first time. With all the canvas out, you could easily sleep a football team.. Took time doing the internals, God is in the detail as they say.. |

Thanks for the update, sounds good. We have an RV5, so hoping to throw that into the mix rather than make it redundant. Do you get charged for the amount of space you use when camping?
I have been looking at caravans but enjoy the outside to much, so looking at a trailer tent to tour Europe when I retire. Cheers Monty-2015 2.2 110 XS Puma Station Wagon Yoda Disco 3-Sold Larry Disco 1-Sold Muddly XS 90 TDCI-Sold Pearl Disco 2-Sold Larry Disco 1-didn't want too but sold |

That's an easy one for me. The xyl will not let me get a tin tent. So it's a tent or a combination to reach a compromise. Trailer tent is me goal. Monty-2015 2.2 110 XS Puma Station Wagon

Loads of beaches up there worth a stop, Strathy, Melvich, Sandside (bit close to Dounraey), Toungue, Bettyhill. Not too sure about wild camping along the north coast, I've camped at Melvich in the past when the pub had a wee campsite next to it (don't know if it's still there). I always liked the journey through Strathnaver when I was working up that way from Toungue down to Lairg, there could be a few good wild camp spots along that road.
I'll be impressed if you can make Thurso as your first stop from Merseyside! Dirty Deeds - Done Dirt Cheap |

Too right SP, bit of a re-think, doing a couple of nights in the lakes then sneak into SW Scotland and head north...
