HELP.. Oil all over the place!
Good Evening,

Walking past my 110 on the way in from work whilst giving it a carress i noticed oil on top of the left wing and running down the left headlight surround, upon opening the bonnet (although i cant see much as its dark), there is oil over left hand side of engine. I have been under the poor beast and can also see oil over the engine block and oil stains on the axle.I have checked the dipstick level and its where it was the other week when i checked. Could it be a gasket? or something more serious?

Anyone any similar experiences? Big Cry

There was a problem with some part that basically sprayed oil everywhere.... can't remember what it is now as no-one has had a problem with it for a while.

Check the turbo pipes and end clips

edit to ask - you mean the left side as you stand at the front of the vehicle and look at the engine?

I'm running through the search facility on the forum to try and find something similar.

Cheers The Boy, and Glyn, Mike & Willy. Ive had a look and the photos in the link and they look similar to what i can see on my 110. I'll get it into the stealers ASAP. I believe my beast had all the recall work done before i bought it, infact its had alot replaced when it came back from mongolia after the 09 G4 challenge recce. The 110 drives alright, is it safe to drive it to the stealers? Mine is 3 months outside its warranty but i do have AA breakdown repair cover, so hoping it will get sorted under that.

Cheers Thumbs Up

Following a forced steam clean of the engine bay a couple of weeks ago I'd say it was the vacuum pump!

Mega!! I see this is a common problem then? My 110 has been faultless, it was only the other week i thought how lucky i was..... after reading some of the dramas/problems some people have. Oh how wrong.

How many eyeballs/limbs will the stealers want if its not covered under my AA breakdown cover/parts and labour policy?

Bow down Cheers for the quick replies guys it sure has put my mind at ease, not nice seeing oil all over the place.

It's like some sort of right of passage when something goes wrong with your Landy! If it makes you feel any better I was reading a thread on Jap 4x4's last week on a sailing forum and all the problems/breakdowns/poor quality interiors and components Shocked There's a que for their ceremonial breakdown christenings Laughing
