Brake 3rd light UNLIT!!

Hi there!!! anybody's got the third brake light (the one on the rear door) non working? I've change the bulb thou it was ok when I took it out, then I isolated the demist (?) wires that get between the glass and the light plastic body.
When putting all together in position again the light still not working.

There is a small cable that looks as an earth connection to the body of the rear door that doesn't seem original, could this be the problem??
