Yup, I fitted one to my cubby box a few years ago. Brilliant..

I did it too. I went for the lightest strut I could find but I can't remember how many newtons it was. Works very well.

It's certainly resolved the issue with the kids swinging on the check strap
I agree - how do they manufacture and supply them for that money ? (don't answer that!) It has a nice controlled open and quite a precise close. Good VFM. I am however going to buy a couple of spare struts for that money |

I've succumbed to Defender2 frippery and bought a gas strut for my cubby box too. Oh the shame 😊
