I just bought some aluminium sheet from eBay and used some two part epoxy.
Scraped off crud from underneath, cleaned with WD40 then degreaser, put patch on, left for 24 hours. My patches all have a 4mm hole in the middle so I could clamp them tight whilst the epoxy was going off. Given that there is going to be very minimal metal-metal contact on account of the stuff you're using to stick them, I wouldn't worry too much about getting the grade exactly right. |

Is it this panel?
Click image to enlarge I replaced it with a new one because of holes in the aluminium. Not difficult but time consuming. Click image to enlarge I glued a thin shim of rubber sheet between the steel crossmember and the new panel. Lift the floor, drill out the rivets, use a grinder to cut it out leaving about 20mm lip.
Then use a scrapper to separate the sealed joints. Most awkward part is easing the folded corner uprights out to fit the new panel. |
